AN EASTER SPECIAL
6th April 2023
Luke Meehan's easter campaign gets off the mark in fine style with not one, but two, mirrored beautys.
Ester weekend saw temperatures rise and the heavens open up as record rain fell across Essex. Thankfully for Luke Meehan, his recent campaign certainly got off to a great start, as he slipped his net under one two of the lake’s most sought after residents on only his second visit!
"My krill pop-up rod screamed off"
Luke revealed:
I arrived at the lake quite late, around 10.30am and immediately set up my bivvys and put out all of my gear.
It was forecasted to rain so I was against a ticking weather clock, and I saw a couple of fish show as I was erecting my bivvy. After my bivvy was up and my gear was safely underneath it keeping dry, I quickly prepped two rods, one on Ronnie and one on Snowman.

After seeing a fish jump in the margins of my swim, I've liked on it with a small mess bag on the end, and it didn't take long to get a bite.

It took less than fifteen minutes to get that first bite, which I sadly didn't land, but my confidence was urged and quickly I got my rod back out on the same spot and it resulted in a nice 38lb common.

Almost immediately after, I got another bite from a 36lb common.
